in Miami Experience 2 there is a play within the concert (but is only a part of it;not like hasc 7 where it is the the whole thing and there's a theme etc). it is about a boy (Nathan/Nachum Stark)who is the lazy, disrupts in class etc type of boy. his parents decide to send him to eretz yisrael for the summer because they think it'll be good him. (he protests but to no avail.) he goes. has an amazing experience and sees what hes been and thinks he'll change. Scenes: classroom + song - be a mentch. father and teacher talk + father and son talk + father sings about the relationship between a fatehrand a son. slide show of scenes in eretz yisrael + music of miami song lmaran (bsiyata dishmaya) and conversation between avner (main character)+ his cousin from E''Y. shabbas table + shabbas song + soldier at the table gets called up and is wounded. avner writes as a letter home about his trip + song to live a life of torah. avner is leaving E''Y and has a coversation with his uncle + in the road to yerushalyim song. curtain call.

When I was writing up the review, I was sure that Around the World was on the same album as Shiru Lo. But I figured I must have been mistaken, given that Yerachmiel Begun was the one who put the booklet together. And given that there were 26 songs on the album to review, I just didn't take the time to go back and check. Clearly just a mistake in the booklet. It happens, though it does prove once again that the Jewish music business could definitely benefit from some proofreading! Will go back and fix it in the review. Thanx for your comments!

Some comments:
Around the World was actually part of Miami Experience 4, (1994) not 2. It's a 25 minute medley of songs performed in various geographical locations.. the beginning and end of the medley contained original lyrics about how when Moshiach comes the whole world will recognise Hashem. Does the track on this collection feature just the beginning and end? (I'm assuming so, but I'm wondering where exactly they would have cut the song...)

I have been an MBC fan since the age of 5. While the English songs are not my favourite part of MBC's repertoire, they certainly are prominent features on each of their albums. It was interesting to read your thoughts. I happen to think that Miami's only real solid English songs as far as lyrics go are Bisyata Dishmaya, Klal Yisroel Together and One By One (and possibly Stand Up if the lyrics didn't flow so fast, I happen to think the song is well written).

There are many others that are enjoyable to listen to, but not necessarily for their lyrics, rather for their tune, music, soloists or message. Some examples are We Need You, Sunshine, Lift Up Your Candle, Light up the Nights and Simcha Song. Quite a few of the English songs are very catchy, have great vocals, but the lyrics don't have that much to them, they seem to just be a bunch of lines that rhyme.. E.g. Min Hashamayim (many lines in that song just don't make sense e.g. "We'd see what a part of his plan was about..." huh?), When, We will Prevail and Me'im Hashem. Most underrated song? Torah Today.

Notably missing from this collection are Light Up the Nights and Miami the Greatest Town (for old time's sake..). I'm also waiting for someone to release an acapella version of "Rousing Retrospective", the tongue-twister song from Miami Experience 3! :-P

Thanks for the review, keep up the great work!
