On a June 4, 2010 review on this website by Kol Isha…
“Fried introduced his next song as one of ‘the top ten songs I wish I would have recorded’, Laufer’s Elokai Neshama, which was sung originally by Dudu Fisher.”
Kol hakavod to Fried on realizing his dream! He has a knack for finding those little known songs that deserve a second chance…

Sounding better than ever. Can’t wait! Interesting that he decided to do two cover songs. I know that Heima was on Sruli Ginsberg’s second album. Anyone know who originally recorded that Elokai Neshomah?

The song Elokai Neshama was originally recorded by Leibel Heschel a’h and then by Dudu Fisher so this would be the 3rd album it’s on.

Elokai Neshama was recorded on more than 3 CD’s; It’s also featured on L’Chaim-Shirah and Moshe Laufer ‘Together’ #4. Additionally, Ribono Shel Olam (Rak Od Dimah Echad) was previously recorded on Yisroel Parnes’ Umefarnes and, as someone previously mentioned, Hema is featured on Sruli Ginsburg’s Oz Yiboka.

Elokai Neshomoh was also recorded on a Chazonos Album from the UK titled A Timeless Collection where Chazan Avromi Frielich sings it in the most beautiful way backed by a classical arrangement.

    Wow !
    Avremel never just disappoints !
His voice is better than ever.
I always wanted to hear Fried’s rendition on songs that just never made it or that are nice but didn’t record it himself.
Well, Avremel couldn’t have picked a better song than “Elokai Neshama”, and the Ribono Shel Olam song sounds amazing as well. I guess Mr. Parnes will need to thank Fried for making his song famous :-) !!

    Much “B’racha V’Hatzlacha” & “Chazak Chazak” !!
